Subaru and Seino Transportation Launch Collaboration
for Automotive Parts Logistics in Japan
Tokyo, February 24, 2026 – Subaru Corporation (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Atsushi Osaki; “Subaru”) today announced that it has begun a collaboration with Seino Transportation Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture; President and CEO: Satoshi Takahashi; “Seino Transportation”) to enhance the efficiency of long-distance transportation of automotive parts in response to challenges facing Japan’s logistics sector, such as truck driver shortages and transport capacity constraints.
As the first step in this collaboration, the companies have implemented long-distance consolidated freight transport*1 for the transportation of automotive parts used in electric vehicles manufactured at Subaru’s Gunma Yajima Plant, where production of those vehicles has just launched in February 2026.
By consolidating shipments of these automotive parts from suppliers in the Chukyo region at Seino Transportation’s Toyokawa Branch in Aichi Prefecture and leveraging its nationwide logistics network, the initiative improves truck loading efficiency and streamlines long-distance transportation.
As part of its efforts to accelerate the "Manufacturing Innovation" and "Value Creation" initiatives, Subaru established a Chief Logistics Officer (CLO) position and Logistics Division in April 2025 to promote company-wide logistics optimization. The company will continue to contribute to building a sustainable logistics environment by addressing various logistics challenges, including Japan’s “2024 driver overtime limits*2,” through enhanced transportation efficiency and the effective utilization of transportation resources.
