The SUBARU Group will collect information on the customer by using cookies and similar technologies (“Cookies”), and handle such information on the Sites as follows.

1. Cookies

A “cookie” is a small text file that is sent from the web server to the web browser of the customer’s computer or mobile device (collectively, “Device”) when the customer accesses a website, and is saved on the Device’s hard disk drive. Cookies are generally separated into two broad categories: “1st Party Cookies” and “3rd Party Cookies.” The “1st Party Cookies” of the Sites are set by the SUBARU Group. In most instances, these Cookies are set for the purpose of providing functionality on the Sites. On the other hand, the “3rd Party Cookies” of the Sites are not set by the SUBARU Group, but by third parties with whom the SUBARU Group collaborates. For example, there may be instances where part of the Cookies will be used together with a third party with whom the SUBARU Group collaborates to improve the Sites or to optimize ads.

An “Ad-ID” is an identifier for ad delivery used in smartphones and other devices. For example, Ad-IDs used on Android devices are called “ADID,” and Ad-IDs used on iOS devices are called “IDFA”.

An Ad-ID is acquired by installing an application on the customer’s Device. Ads can be delivered based on the Ad-ID with the information of the application used by an individual.
