Net sales by business segment showed decreases in sales and profits for all segments except for the category of other business areas. The Aerospace Company saw a decrease of 18.8 billion yen in sales. In the defense sector, revenue from AH-64D sales declined on a percentage of completion basis. Sales volume in the civil sector suffered a setback due to the strike at Boeing last fall as well as discontinued production at the failed Eclipse Aviation Corporation. Sales were also down by 5.8 billion yen at the Industrial Products Company due to declining sales in the North American market while sales in other areas rose as a result of the posting of sales at newly consolidated subsidiaries.
