The sales forecast for domestic passenger cars is down by 0.8 thousand units compared with the previous year. Although increases are expected for the Legacy (which will get a major facelift) and the Forester of 4.2 thousand units and 0.5 thousand units, respectively, the Impreza sales are expected to fall by 5.2 thousand units. We expect to see an overall increase of 33.4 thousand units due to the new model of minicar effect which will increase sales of 34.1 thousand units to make up for the drop in the Pleo, R1 and R2 sales.

In overseas markets, the Impreza sales are expected to increase in the U.S. for an overall increase of 9.0 thousand units. Sales in Canada will increase by 1.2 thousand units with slight sales increases seen in each model. In Europe, sales of the Forester, which did well last year, will drop, but there will be a slight increase of 0.6 thousand units overall. The Forester sales in Australia will also decline, with overall sales increasing slightly by 0.3 thousand units. A 5.2 thousand unit decrease is predicted in the Middle East as demand falls after the changes to restrictions implemented in the previous year.
Overall sales overseas are expected to rise by 6.1 thousand units.
Overall domestic and overseas sales are expected to rise by 39.4 thousand units.
