We revised down the sales target for domestic passenger vehicles, mainly because of the decline in sales of the Legacy and the Forester, 1.5 thousands units lower than projected at the end of first half of this fiscal year. We expect to see a drop of 7 hundreds units in minicar sales due to the aging of minicar models. Overall, total domestic sales are expected to fall by 2.1 thousands units.
In overseas markets, with U.S. sales of the B9 Tribeca falling off by 2.4 thousands units than initially projected, overall US sales will see a decrease of 3.6 thousands units. Canadian sales are also expected to drop by 3 hundreds units. European sales are expected to go up by 2.1 thousands units owing to the 3.2 thousands unit increase in sales of the Forester following its big face lift. Australian sales will continue to hold steady, with an estimated sales increase of 7 hundreds units. This results in a total increase of 2.9 thousands units. We pushed the total sales target up slightly by 8 hundreds units since we expect that declining domestic sales will be covered by overseas sales. |
