FHI Announces Production, Japan Sales and Export Results for October 2013

Led by strong demand for the Forester, domestic production rose year over year for the 10th straight month, setting an alltime record for the month of October. While overseas production declined from a year ago for the 6th month in a row, total global production grew year over year for the 10th consecutive month, posting an all-time monthly production record.

With continued high demand for the Forester, domestic sales of passenger cars increased from a year ago for the 17th month in a row. Mini-vehicle sales were led by the "Pleo Plus" minicar and increased from last year for the second straight month. Total Japan sales rose from the previous year for the 7th consecutive month.

Propelled by continued strong sales in North America as well as high demand for the Forester in other overseas markets, CBU exports grew year over year for the 9th consecutive month, setting an all-time export record for the month of October.
