Fuji Heavy Industries Receives "Boeing Supplier of the Year"

Tokyo, April 20, 2012 - Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd (FHI), today announced that FHI’s Aerospace Company has been recognized as Supplier of the Year by The Boeing Company, located in Chicago, Illinois and headed by Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer James McNerney. The award ceremony was held on April 18, 2012 in Chicago, where the Boeing Company’s headquarters is located, and Hisashi Nagano, Corporate Executive Vice President and Aerospace Company President received the honorable trophy.

The winners of "Boeing Supplier of the Year" represent an elite supplier group among more than 17,500 active Boeing suppliers in over 52 countries around the world for Boeing Defense, Commercial Airplanes, and Space & Security divisions. The award winners performed distinguished development and manufacturing capabilities, which contributed customer satisfactions and 16 suppliers were selected in the categories such as structures, components, and outstanding improvements.

FHI received the award in the "Pathfinder" Category as a first Japanese company for its outstanding performance for on-time deliveries and production rate-up without giving any disruptions for Boeing final production lines under severe circumstances after the Major Earthquake in Northeastern Japan in March 2011, such as material supply turmoil, transport infrastructure damages and electrical supply restrictions. FHI received the "Boeing Supplier of the Year" in 2003 for "Major Structure" Category as a first Japanese company, and this is the second award for FHI.

FHI will continue to contribute to our customers including airlines for improvement of customer satisfaction by maintaining a positive relationship with Boeing and advancing our own technologies.
