FHI Announces Results for September 2011 and 1st Half of FY 2012

The domestic production for September decreased for the twelveth consecutive month year-on-year. The ovearseas production increased year-on-year for the first time in four months and set an all-time September record.

<1st Half of FY2012>

Due to the limited production amid the difficulties in parts supply following the major earthquake in northeastern Japan, the global production for the period April through September 2011 decreased year-on-year for the first time in two years.

Due to the inventory shortage caused by the decreased production following the major earthquake in northeastern Japan, the domestic sales of passenger cars for September decreased for the third consecutive month year-on-year, and total domestic sales also decreased for the twelveth consecutive month year-on-year.

<1st Half of FY2012>

In spite of the increased sales of Forester carrying the new generation Boxer engine in the first half of FY 2012, the total sales in Japan decreased for the first time in two years year-on-year, due to the inventory shortage caused by the decreased production following the major earthquake in northeastern Japan.
