Subaru Production Situation in Japan beyond March 23
Following Major Earthquake in Northeastern Japan

Tokyo, March 21, 2011 - Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the maker of Subaru automobiles, announced today that it has decided to extend the production suspension at all Subaru automobile plants in Japan* until Thursday, March 24, considering the influence of its suppliers in the affected areas as well as conditions of electric power supply. FHI previously announced its production suspension until March 22.

Separately, FHI plans to restart production of parts for overseas production on Wednesday, March 23 and production of spare parts on Thursday, March 24 respectively, as soon as those parts are ready for the restart of production.

*Subaru automobile plants in Japan: Gunma Main Plant, Gunma Yajima Plant, Gunma Ota North Plant, Gunma Oizumi Plant and Isesaki Plant.
