Our consolidated automobile sales plan for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2009 sets an increase of 9.1 thousand units of passenger cars in Japan, in anticipation of a new Forester model and others to be released. However, since we have no plan to release new minicar models, sales volume of all models will see a decrease of 6.4 thousand units. As a result, we forecast a combined sales volume increase of 2.7 thousand units of passenger cars and minicars.
Overseas, in the United States, we forecast increased sales volume of 4.1 thousand units in anticipation of increasing sales of Impreza and Forester. In Canada, however, we forecast a slight decrease in sales volume of 0.2 thousand units. In Europe, our overall sales volume are forecast to increase by 9.3 thousand units, including an anticipated increase of 5.1 thousand units in Russia and increased sales volume of Legacy with a diesel engine to be released in the former Western Europe and an increasing sales volume of new Forester. In Australia, we forecast increased sales volume of 2.6 thousand units in anticipation of releases of new Impreza and Forester models. In Others area, we forecast an increasing sales volume of 0.3 thousand units, including an anticipated increase of 3.4 thousand units in China.
As a result of the above, we forecast an increase of 16.2 thousand units in overseas sales volume. Combined with an increase of 2.7 thousand units in domestic sales volume, we forecast a grand total increase of 18.9 thousand units in sales volume. |
