Regarding the consolidated number of units sold in Japan during the year ending March 31, 2008, 8.2 thousand more units of passenger cars are planned, with 5.4 thousand more units of Impreza, and 4.9 thousand more units of Forester. Minicars, new car effect of Stella has passed through one full year, and other new car releases are not planned, so all models are forecasted to fall by the total of 17.0 thousand units. The total reduction is therefore 8.9 thousand units.
For overseas, in U.S., the Legacy will undergo a major facelift for planned 2.1 thousand more units, in addition to 7.8 thousand more Tribeca units, and 0.5 thousand more units from the effect of Impreza’s full model change, and that resulting in a total increase of 6.2 thousand units. Growth in all models is forecasted in Canada, for an increase of 2.3 thousand units. In Europe, Impreza increases 6.7 thousand units, and Justy (OEM from Daihatsu) increases 5.1 thousand units, for the total of 8.2 thousand more units. In Australia, Impreza and Tribeca are expected to increase, but other models are getting older, and that to decrease by 0.1 thousand units. Decreases are seen in other regions as well, except for Tribeca, resulting in 1.9 thousand fewer units. The above results in a 14.7 thousand units increase overseas, but there are 8.9 thousand fewer units in Japan, resulting in the total 5.8 thousand units increase.
