For the first half of the year ending March 31, 2008, the consolidated number of units sales plan in Japan is for a 1.2 thousand units growth in passenger cars through a release of the new Impreza will increase 4.1 thousand units though stiff competitions are in the forecast for other vehicle models. For minicars, one year has passed since the launch of Stella, and there will be no plan for new models released within this fiscal year, so the forecast is a decrease of 6.7 thousand units. The total for passenger cars and minicars is a decrease of 5.5 thousand units.
Overseas, in U.S., Legacy and Tribeca are forecasted to improve, leading to a 1.5 thousand units increase. In Canada, a little increases of 0.2 thousand units are expected. In Europe, a new model effect is forecasted for Impreza and Tribeca, for an increase of 5.1 thousand units. In Australia, stiff competitions are in the forecast except for Tribeca, resulting in a decrease of 1.1 thousand units. In other regions, favorable sales in China, and Singapore, etc., forecast a 3.7 thousand units increase. Due to the above matters, a 9.4 thousand units increase is in the forecast for overseas, but a 5.5 thousand units decrease in Japan, for the total forecasted increase of 3.8 thousand units.
