The consolidated sales volume for the first nine months of the term ending March 2006 saw a total decrease of 3.3 thousands units with year-on-year sales of domestic passenger cars declining by 3.5 thousands units for the Legacy and by 1 thousand units for the Traviq, for which production was already terminated. These losses could not be offset by the 1.3 thousand unit increase in sales of the Impreza following its big face lift. Among minicars, sales for the R2 and the Sambar were down by 13.5 thousands units and by 2.6 thousands units respectively. This drop could not be offset by the 4.5 thousands unit sales increase for the R1 and the Pleo, leading to a total minicar sales decline of 11.6 thousands units. Overall 14.9 thousands fewer units were sold in the domestic market.
In overseas markets, B9 Tribeca sales were up by 14.3 thousands units and sales for the Impreza were up 9 hundreds units in the U.S. However, this sales increase was balanced off with a dip in sales for the Legacy and the Forester by 14.1 thousands units. Combined with the Saab 9-2X decrease of 6.9 thousands units there was an overall drop totaling 5.8 thousands units. In Canada, as the contribution of the B9 Tribeca sales was not good enough to cover declining sales of other models, overall sales drop by 1.1 thousands units. Despite a 1.9 thousands unit drop in sales of the Impreza, sales in Europe were up by 2.3 thousands units owing to a 4.2 thousands unit jump in Forester sales as a result of its major face lift. In Australia sales rose by 1.6 thousands units with continued steady sales of the Impreza and the Forester. Consequently overseas sales increased by 4.7 thousands units overall. However, declining domestic sales and a decrease of 13.2 thousands units after the termination of consignment production at SIA resulted in a total decrease of 23.3 thousands units.
