Compared to the full year unit sales plan for the previous fiscal year, the sales projection for domestic passenger cars is down by 2.7 thousand units. Impreza sales should increase by 7.6 thousand units as a result of its full model change in June and the introduction of the WRX STI in October which completed the lineup. A 3 thousand unit increase is expected for the Forester, which is scheduled to undergo a full model change by the end of this fiscal year, while Legacy sales are expected to decline by 12.6 thousand units. All minicar sales are predicted to decline year-on-year by 25 thousand units. Overall, domestic sales are projected to decrease by 23.3 thousand units.
Overseas, the U.S. market will see an increase of 6.4 thousand units with increases in sales of all models other than the Forester. In Canada, sales are expected to increase for all models, resulting in an increase of 2.3 thousand units. In Europe, sales will be up by 13.3 thousand units with a projected sales increase of 9.5 thousand units for the all new Impreza. In Australia, there will be a 1.2 thousand unit increase buoyed by the increased sales of the Impreza and the Tribeca. In other markets, sales will grow for all models, leading to an increase of 14.8 thousand units. The overseas sector should generate an increase of 37.9 thousand units. This increase will cover sluggish sales in the domestic market, contributing to an overall gain of 14.7 thousand units for the entire year.
